Q: How do I log in?
A: If you're a student or staff with a University of Michigan unique name, you can click the "Student & Staff Login" button in the upper left corner of the screen. You'll be prompted for your unique name and password.

If you are a family member or guest of a University of Michigan staff or student, and have been granted a guest account, click the "Family & Guest Login" button in the upper left corner of the screen. You'll be prompted to enter the email address that was registered and the password that was sent to the registered email address.

Q: How do I give other people access to my account?
A: You can creat a guest account for them by logging into your account and clicking on "Grant Additional Access" on the right side of your screen. You can enter up to four email addresses. After entering the email address, check the box next to the email address you want to have access to your account and click "complete". This will send an email to the address listed with a password. Please see FAQ "How do I log in?" for information on logging in with a guest account.

Q: How do I use the "Low Balance Warning Feature"?
A: Enter the list of email addresses that you would like to receive the low balance warning. A Check box to the left of the name makes that email address active to receive the emails. Next select the plans, by clicking the check box next to the plan, that you want to receive a low balance warning for. Click Save.

Q: How frequently will the low balance feature send an email?
A: You will receive an email about your low balance daily until you either replenish your funds or cancel your request for notification.

Q: Is there a way to change my Family or Guest account password to something I want to set it to?
A: The password is automatically generated and cannot be changed.

Q: What if I forget or lose my Family or Guest account password?
A: The owner of the account can send a new password to you by unchecking your email address from their Family & Guest account configuration. Save changes. Check the box by your email address again and save changes.

Q: Why isn't my family or friend getting their login information for their Yahoo email account?
A: Have your friend or family check their junk mailbox. They may need to adjust their spam filters.

Q: What are Blue Bucks?
A: Blue Bucks are a debit card service that was designed to supplement the resident meal plan, but it is also available to all registered students of the University of Michigan. Blue Bucks can be obtained through one of our meal plan options and/or can be purchased separately. It can be used within the residence halls, as well as in numerous eateries on campus.

Q: What happens to Blue Bucks that I don't use?
A: Remaining FALL term Blue Bucks will automatically carry over to the winter term.

Remaining WINTER term Blue Bucks, in excess of $5, will be refunded back to Student Accounts for anyone not registered for the Spring/Summer term(s). Account holders not registered for Spring/Summer term(s) may request that their balance be carried over to the Fall term by contacting Housing Business Services.
