Reporting Damage or Requesting Repairs
You should report damages or repairs needed to any portion of a University Housing facility by dialing F-I-X-I-T (3-4948) on an in-house phone or online through the FIX-IT webform (UMICH KERBEROS login required)

If you feel you have an After-Hours Emergency that can not wait until the next business day, call POCC at 647-2059.

FIX-IT Maintenance Requests
FIX-IT requests can be submitted either via our telephone service or via this web site. Service work for maintenance that is handled via the telephone-based service request system is staffed by Facilities from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. In addition, for non-emergency after-hours requests, FIX-IT has automatic telephone answering equipment that accepts service requests 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at 76-FIXIT or 763-4948.

For administrative purposes each FIX-IT request is assigned a special work order number. When calling about the status of a work order, please have this number available.

FIX-IT System Changes
In May 2007 University Housing began utilizing a new system for FIX-IT tracking. As a consequence of changing this system, a new web-based submission form for residents of University Housing was deployed. The new form functions similarly to the previous form but will have the following differences:

  • More required data; providing accurate and complete data helps the staff locate and resolve problems more quickly.
  • More structured room and apartment data; address will be picked from a list.
  • Authentication required; a UMICH uniqname and KERBEROS password will be required to submit a web FIX-IT.
Residents of Northwood Community Apartments who do not have a UM uniqname will need to do one of the following to submit a FIX-IT.

Our mission is to help plan, create, and maintain an environment conducive to comfortable living and learning, while meeting our needs for well-being and growth. We thank you for your patience through this transition period.
